ANIMAL MODELING

1- Sheep musculoskeletal model for osteoporosis

Project Leader: António Veloso and Sandra Amado

Project purposes:

  • To develop a sheep hindlimb musculoskeletal model for osteoporosis.
  • To use treadmill walking as a viable approach to regulate muscle and joint contact forces for in-vivo osteoporosis model.
  • To predict in-silico tibiofemoral contact forces for an in-vivo osteoporosis sheep model.

 

 

 

 

2-  The development of 3D animal models

Project purposes:

  • To continue te previous work of developing a rat bilateral hindlimb model for the study of peripheral nerve injury recovery.
