Thesis title:
Design and implementation of a program of physical exercise focused on postural stability for the elderly and evaluation of its impact in gait pattern, functional fitness and falls prevention.
Lecturing activities:
- Functional screening and exercise prescription in special populations (postural and functional imbalances)
- Group and individual physical fitness methodology
Research Interests:
Research focused on the elderly population and the risk of falling within the following aspects:
- Design and implementation of exercise program centered on fall risk factors – posture, balance, lower lim strength and power and gait pattern
- Pedography assessment to characterize of the magnitude and distribution of plantar pressure associated with gait in elderly
- Characterization of physical activity level, perceived health, functional status and it’s relationship to the occurrence of falls in this population
